Freezin’ For a Reason Polar Plunge

Get ready to embrace the cold for a cause that truly warms the heart! Join us on March 28th at 10:00 AM at the Lake Bomoseen Lodge & Taproom for the annual Freezin’ For a Reason Polar Plunge, a fun-filled community event benefiting Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Hosted by the Cairo Shriners, this exciting event invites participants of all ages—from kids to seasoned plungers—to take a bold leap into the chilly waters of Lake Bomoseen. Whether you're an individual, part of a team, or representing a local business, everyone is welcome to join in on the fun and support an incredible cause. A $20 participation fee goes directly toward helping provide life-changing care for children in need.
The day begins with registration and check-in at 10:00 AM inside the Lodge and Taproom, where participants can gather, get organized, and soak in the pre-plunge excitement. When it’s time, plungers will make their way across the street to the lake for the main event—an unforgettable (and very brisk!) dip into Lake Bomoseen.
Participants are encouraged to show off their creativity with costumes, team themes, or fun accessories—spirit and enthusiasm are a big part of what makes this event so special. For safety and comfort, plungers should wear footwear into the water, such as flip flops, water shoes, or old sneakers.
After the plunge, warm up with help from Allen Pools & Spas, who will have hot tubs onsite for participants. Each plunger will also receive a commemorative Freezin’ For a Reason towel to dry off and remember the day. Changing trailers will be available, so be sure to bring a warm, dry set of extra clothes.
Whether you're diving in or cheering from the sidelines, this is a fantastic opportunity to come together as a community, have some fun, and make a meaningful impact.
